Show off your shoulders and collar bone by putting your hair in an elegant up 'do. It's worth getting it done by a professional just for the night, but if you don't want to, it's easy to do one yourself. Stick your hair in a very high ponytail (make sure it's all super-smoothed out with serum and hairspray) then take the ponytail and experiment with ways of dividing it and rolling the pieces into coils and pinning them into a fetching hairdo. Honestly, it's easy. Just practice, you'll be surprised what you can do yourself.
To accentuate your collarbone, try some shimmery body powder or lotion, it's a subtle effect, but very eye catching. For makeup with the red dress, I would go for a subtle approach. Let your skin do the talking - make sure you're well moisturised, with a light-reflecting moisturiser and maybe some of Benefit's High Beam to accentuate your cheekbones. Maybe get a light gold-ish shimmery powder to play up the body shimmer and apply a little bit to your eyelids. Concentrate on precision application of brown eyeliner and black mascara. I think that black eyeliner may be a little too harsh with such a powerful colour as red, and brown eyeliner is usually very flattering with dark eyes. Make sure your brows are well groomed, and go for a red lipstick, carefully applied with a brush after your lip liner. To make sure it lasts the night, try using a sealer on top. Max Factor have a lip product that lasts all night called Lipfinity. Plenty of colours to choose from, just make sure you find a red that suits both you and the dress!
Just concentrate on looking well groomed and sophisticated in an understated way. This means great moisturised skin and well groomed brows. Nice dress, by the way! Good luck.
It's not about the Dress it's how (you) wear IT.
Go Natural if you are a Natural Beauty
Red is already a HoT color match it up with a winning smile,
Put your Hair up in a Sexy Style but neat
If you insist on Make up
Go the Bare Mineral way and don't wear any
uncomfortable shoes that will damper your Day!!
Live Life to the Fullest and be comfortable
while your doing it!
With your skin tone, it would be sexy if you found a lipstick to match the dress. However, there is a trick to applying lipstick these days: put a thin layer all over your lips, then blot with a tissue, then put the lip color on your finger and smooth from center to corner, then from center to other corner. Blot again, then repeat the second step if needed.
For your eyes, I'd keep it fairly simple due to your bold lips: a thin strip of black liquid liner lining your bottom lid and a slightly thicker line on your top is fine. Then choose a lengthening mascara; nothing TOO over-the-top.
Do whatever you do normally to your skin to make it look best. I'm guessing this outfit is for an important occassion? If you get any last-minute pimples the night before, put some eye droplets on a cotton ball and freeze it for at least half an hour, then hold to the pimple for 5 minutes. It should decrease the puffiness and the color.
I know you'll look fab, good luckk!
you can wear you hair any way really just dont do a bun. as for make up NOTHING THAT POPS OUT! get a tanned natural look and DON'T PUT ON RED EYESHADOW! it will look HORRIBLE!...if you put a bunch on...
the you could try doing different things one day before (prom i'm guessing?) and then look i a mirror while holding up your dress- take a pic and then try a different look when you run out of ideas look at the pics and choose your fav.
DON'T FORGET! on a pice of paper or soemthing right down what you did to get that look in the picture!
hope this helps :D
