Why do most people use their hair and eye colors as determining factors for flattering makeup/clothing colors?

You can have two people side by side, both with blonde hair, brown eyes, pale, but they cannot wear the same colors without one person being washed out terribly by them. The skin tone, whether cool or warm, is the determining factor. Are most folks honestly uninformed about how skin tones work or do they not care?Why do most people use their hair and eye colors as determining factors for flattering makeup/clothing colors?

well everyone is not the same they might appear that way outside but inside they could be totally different person they could have different taste. Everyone has their own ';look'; they see what they like they stick with it if they domt they keep experimenting Report Abuse

Everyone thinks of pretty differently. But Skin tones dont matter. Hair and eyes are important becuase your eyes stand out a lot. poeple look at your eyes alot and your hair is like right there... its hard not to notice. and some colors just dont go together so well lol.
i don't think it is a matter of them caring or not...i think it is just that they see what they want to see in the mirror...Everyone has their own perception of what they believe looks ';good'; and what looks ';bad';.
so thats where i've gone wrong all my life? not being informed on skin tone....all those boyfriends lost, jobs not gotten, promotions missed, houses bidded on and not won...where were you 20yrs ago?

Well, skin tone really does matter when speaking of makeup. But, no, most people don't really care, or just not know about it. They wear whatever, which is great, because they have enough self confidence to pull it off!
Pretty is in the eye of the beholder. Thats all there is to it!
